Adoption Information

There are many dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, and other animals who can't wait to join a family of their own! The list of animals changes daily, so check back often.

For the list of all available pets, fostered and at the Campbell County Shelter, go to Animal List on this site. You can also view more photos of each pet on our Facebook page, Friends of Campbell County Animal Control.

We are happy to facilitate the adoption process of the animals that are at the Campbell County Shelter, which are under the care of Campbell County. Additionally, FOAC posts dogs and cats that are safe in foster homes with Friends of Animal Control volunteers.

You are invited to stop by the Animal Shelter at 322 Dennis Riddle Drive, Rustburg, Virginia, which is right behind Yellow Branch Elementary School, or call 434-821-4416 to proceed with adoptions of shelter pets. Fostered pets are available for meet and greet once we have received an application or email from an interested adopter.

Adoptions of non-sterilized dogs and cats are limited to residents of Campbell County, counties touching Campbell County, and Lynchburg City. Pets which are not sterilized may sometimes be adopted outside the local area by special arrangement with FOAC. Email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com for more information on the process.

We consider ourselves "matchmakers," and would love to recommend a pet that might be a perfect fit for your family!

If you see a furry face you'd like to adopt, fill out our online application or email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. We always begin with an application.
