We wish all dogs could talk, but with Ireland we wish it even more.  He is gradually showing us that at one time he may have been a loved family pet.  For example, he knows what the crinkle of plastic means (treats!) and he reached way back in his memory and showed us that he knows “Sit!”Nowadays, he’s in somewhat rough shape.  Found as a stray, he is underweight, and has a skin condition we are treating with antibiotics.  He enjoys being petted and massaged, has a low key personally, is good on a leash, takes treats gently and has a lovely trot. Ireland has a cute shepherd-y face and husky-like coat and tail.  He will probably weigh about 50 pounds once we get some weight on him.  He is maybe 1 to 2 years old. Ireland would love a home, of course, or a foster home where he can continue to heal and show us more about himself.
