UPDATE: from a volunteer that had a chance to meet Midnight: We met this little lady while volunteering at the shelter today. She likes to "growl" when she communicates but she is sweet as pie and wasn't the least bit aggressive. What a loving baby who would make a wonderful addition to someone's home. I know we were smitten! - - - This gal deserves her very own photo album! She ended up being so photogenic, I could have spent the last seconds of my phone battery taking pictures of her! This is after a week of being at the shelter, in a cage, where she grumbled and hissed and complained. Fred is a very brave and knowledgeable volunteer, and I asked him last night if he would mind assessing her for us to see how she would react to handling. Fred is much braver than I am! He reached in and petted her and scratched her ears, and she reacted lovingly. Next he bravely reached under her belly to see how she would feel about being picked up, and again she responded well. The next step was to pick her up and snuggle her, and that is when we saw a complete change in her personality: affectionate, thrilled to have attention, and happy to be with us. She even allowed me to put fancy ribbons around her neck for photos! What an awesome cat she’s going to be. See how she reaches out for attention and to show her acceptance? It’s a tough place being at the shelter when you are an independent cat, and we know many of them suffer emotionally. We do the best we can but we know it’s never enough. If you’re looking for a fun loving cat, and one who we are told does not like kittens, consider Midnight! Midnight has been spayed. We were told she is five years old; she lived with other cats, but would be happiest in your arms! Apply to adopt: www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org
