Gina has been in foster care for many months now. She is a long legged beagle mix, super with other dogs, but still learning to trust humans. Her first instinct in a new situation that makes her uncomfortable is to run away from the situation. Gina has lacked confidence since we took her in, and while she has made progress, she has a long way to go. She had been unsocialized with humans for several months before we took her, and is even now learning to be trusting of humans. We would love to see Gina adopted, but we want just the right placement. We are seeking a family who has had experience with shy dogs, with a quiet household—one who is up to a challenge—but most important, who have another sweet dog and a fenced yard—will be the perfect placement for this girl. Gina is about three years old, it’s totally vented, is house trained, and is a wonderful companion for other dogs. She is nonthreatening, love to play with toys, and eat well. She will run, and if scared will dart out the door. Sadly, there are many bagels in our local area who have not been exposed to many new things as they were growing up, and life is very difficult for them later. We do not give up however. We believe every dog has a home out there somewhere. Gina will remain in foster care until she finds at home!
